  Golfers of all skill levels and new members are always welcome!

Format:

The Womens Golf Association plays Wednesday mornings from
May 4 through September 26
  • 18-Holers shotgun start at 7:30
  • 9-Holers begin immediately following at approximately 7:45
  • Flight placement is based on handicap.
  • Players must record scores immediately following play to be eligible for prizes.
  • Prizes are awarded at the monthly luncheon on the last playday of the month.

 

Membership:

  • Membership is open to any amateur, female golfer in the Bloomington-Normal community; University Students, Faculty/Staff, Retirees, Alumni, and Community Members. 
  • Golfers of all skill levels and new members are always welcome!
  • Both 18-Hole and 9-Hole groups are available

 

Fees:

  • $20 Association Dues (All Members) - The annual dues for the WGA are set at $20. Dues may be paid at the Organizational Meeting or prior to playing in the first playday.
  • $20 Handicap Fee (18-Holers) - An additional handicap fee of $20 is required for each 18-Hole Member in order to join the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA). This enables members to post scores and track an official USGA handicap.  Handicap Fees may be paid to the Weibring Golf Club pro shop at the Organizational Meeting or prior to playing the first playday.
  • $0 Handicap Fee (9-Holers) …Complimentary! The CDGA provides complimentary software for unofficial 9-hole handicaps.  These handicaps are used only for league play and are not recognized by the USGA.
  • Greens Fees/Cart Fees - Players are responsible for their own greens fees and cart fees payable at the registration desk each morning.  Season Passes will be honored. Fees for League Play:

2012 Play Day Information

May 2, 2012
Crier’s Choice:   Each player “chooses” her three worst holes on each 9 holes, and converts the score on these holes to “par” for the playday score. (Real score is posted.)


May 9, 2012
Mutt and Jeff:  Count only the Par 3s and Par 5s for your total score.  Par 4s are tossed out.  (Real scores are posted.)

May 16, 2012
Even Steven:  Each player will count ONLY the EVEN holes for their total score.  (Real scores are posted.)


May 23, 2012
Bunker Blues:  Each time a player hits a ball that lands in a bunker, a “bunker-blues” point is given. The player in each flight with the least number of bunker-blues points at the end of play wins. Ties are resolved by lowest net score. (Real scores are posted)

 
June 6, 2012 
Losers:  
- 9 hole player will subtract worst Par 3, Par 4, and Par 5 from their score. 
- 18 hole player will subtract worst Par 3, Par 4, and Par 5 from their score on the front 9 and their score on the back 9. 
Lowest score will win.  (Real scores are posted.)

The Odds Have It:   Scores for all odd-numbered holes are totaled for the “odd score”. The lowest odd score for each flight wins. Keep scores for all holes; ties will be broken by the player with the lowest net for all holes. (Real scores are posted.)

Frienly 4's:  Each player will count ONLY par 4's and lowest score will win. (Real scores are posted)

Cha-Cha-Cha:  Three different contests(Cha):
-Lowest total number of strokes on Par 3s
-Lowest total number of strokes on Par 4s
-Lowest total number of strokes on Par 5s. 
A player may win only one “Cha.” (Real scores are posted.)

July 25-26, 2012 
Club Championship (two day total)
and Predict Your Score (for those only playing one day):

In the clubhouse, before teeing off, golfers fill our a "Predict Your Score" form trying to guess/predict the total gross score and the total number of putts they will need to complete the round. The person in each flight guessing the closest to her actual score will win. In case of ties, the player whose putt prediction is closest to her actual score will win.

My Fair Lady: Each time a player’s drive from the tee rests in the fairway, the player is awarded a “fair lady” point. The player with the most “fair lady” points at the end of play wins. (Real score is posted)   

August 8, 2012
Bogey Boasters: Each player circles scores on holes where bogeys are recorded. The player with the most bogey holes wins. Ties are resolved by lowest net score. (Real scores are posted).

August 15, 2012
1857 Day:  Scores for holes number 1, 8, 5, and 7 for 9 hole players and numbers 1, 8, 5, 7, 11, 18, 15, and 17 and 18 hole players are totaled. Lowest score for each flight is the winner. (Real score posted.)

August 22, 2012
Top Ten (18 holers) - Top Five (9 holers):  At the end of the round, each player identifies any 10 holes (for 18 hole players) or any 5 holes (for 9 hole players) with the lowest gross score; lowest “top ten” or “top five” total wins. (Post real scores.)

Par Stars (18 holers) /Bogey Babes (9 holers):  For 18 hole players, the player with the most pars for the round in each flight becomes a “Par Star” for the day. For 9 hole players, the player with the most pars and bogeys will be a “Bogey Babe” for the day. Ties will be broken by player with the lowest net strokes. (Real scores are posted.)
 
September 12, 2012
Hate 'em:  Before beginning play, each player circles one Par 3 hole, one Par 4 hole, and on Par 5 hole that you “Hate”. These must be selected before the game begins. At the end of the round these holes will be counted as pars in the play day game score. (Real scores are posted).
 

September 19, 20121
Three Blind Mice:  Three holes will be secretly designated by the Play Captain as hosting a “Blind Mouse” who can’t see a player’s gross score on that hole. Players will be informed of which three holes to eliminate gross scores. Winners will be determined by figuring the net score, then subtracting the total of the “Three Blind Mice” holes gross scores in each flight for the 18 hole players and for the 9 hole players. (Real score is posted.)
